The documentry started off with short takes of disasters which can be quite unpleasent to see which made me reflect on my daily activities and what I've seen outside when they said "at the end the environment is going to survive and we are the ones may not survive or we may survive in a world we don't want to live in". It made me think that it's really true, yet it kind of scared me when they said our world is "like infected".
We were the key to our survival because we have a mind and a brain for the future yet because of the discovery of fossil fuel and us humans wanting to "make the future better" we are, at the same time, harming the nature that now we have to pay the price for it. With the source of fossil fuel our population expanded and we are now very dependant on this source. It really surprised me, although with all those good inventions (such as cars, trains, everything) was it actually bad?
The fact that we are using more sources (oil) than needed we are actually affecting our climate. Some we have seen or experienced includes acid rains, abnormal temperatures, bushfires, floods, hurricanes, etc. We can only see more of these in the future.
With all the pollution (water and food) we are also affecting our children and the unborn. Children born later are more prone to having certain diseases at a younger age. This was something I believe is true too from friend's children I know.
Quotes which made me reflect:
"We don't know what we've lost. (the beauty of nature) And we make up for it by attempting to conquer the world."
This was so true when we look at the things, everything (what's available to us now) we don't have feelings for the pollution we've created, the rubbish people throw into the sea, the cigarettes, etc.
"Ones organisms wasste is another's food, this is the ideal model of the industrial system"
"imagine designing a building like a tree"
Perhaps this is a really good idea but would the world actually cooperate and have this happening? Many times I really think humans are really selfish, those who only care for themselves. Could we actually get everyone to recycle or be less pollutant?
